New Extruder Drive Gear

Post by rpollack » Sun Mar 20, 2016 1:01 am

We have a new extruder drive gear that I'd like to send out for your feedback. It is a drop-in replacement (though we've modified the filament drive for it). If you'd like for us to send you one, send a request to upgrade@maker...

put New Extruder Gear in the subject

Please only request one if you can start using it soon after receiving it. Include your shipping address.

Thank you

Whats the intended benefit of this new drive gear? Will it help with NinjaFlex type materials?

We can't test it on all the available materials so we are looking for feedback. Try it and let us know...

I sent an email for one ... I seriously think you guys underestimate my ability to ferret out weird things. I can probably get bog-standard PLA to strip the teeth off of hardened steel, somehow.

Are there materials we can skip testing?

So a modified filament drive is required? We need to print a new one?

@insta - just use it in your normal routine. You do not need to try to any specific materials.

@jim - you should be able to use it with your current setup. We are using a different filament drive but it is not required.
