Thomas mold

Post by jsc » Tue May 17, 2016 7:46 pm

It's been a while since I've done any mold making. I knocked this one up to make soap bars for my son, but couldn't find the soap base right away so I cast it in plaster as a test: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1570441

Wow, that came out great. Did you do any finishing on the mold, or just use it as it came off the machine?

No finishing other than a generous layer of Johnson paste wax as a mold release. Tape around the outside seam just to insure against leaks.

Here it is in soap. Much easier to "finish".

Awesome! (I've got a couple of those soap dishes too....aren't they the best?! chuckle!)
