Accuracy and Nozzle diameter

Post by jcspball13 » Fri May 20, 2016 1:35 pm

Working on a few small parts, they are about 3/8" and I need the dimensions to come out as close to perfect as possible in order to fit together

I have been noticing with my .5mm nozzle, I am getting a decent amount of variance in parts, even in the same printing

I guess my question is 2 fold: will putting the .35" nozzle back on increase my accuracy any; and is the V4 any more accurate than the V3b?

I had it perfectly dialed in at one point, printed about 200 pieces, and then the variance went up again

I guess as a side note, what speed d you guys find that if you lower it to, the accuracy goes up, without it being so slow, it takes forever

Sorry for the long post, still learning here!

Are you running a plastic motor mount still? If so.... check it for cracks.

If your having noticeable variance in dimensions your hot end might be moving around in the mount if it is in fact cracked.

If you have the metal motor mount upgrade forget everything I just wrote. :D

Thought I'd treat myself to one of those shiny metal motor mounts. Get to checkout - $50 for shipping. I don't think so. MakerGear really need to start making things a little easier for international customers.

Anybody have the drawings for the mount?
