problem connecting to printer

Gents,

My Laptop says the device is working properly. However, the software says that COM3 does not exist. I then see that the printer is connected at Port_#0002.Hub_#0001. Even though it says Com3 in Windows 8.1.

Anyone got any idea? I am a newbie and I am stumped.
