1st Gen M2 hotend temperature limit

Post by javafuel » Thu May 04, 2017 7:08 pm

I print mostly ABS at 210c. The low priced ABS such as eSun http://amzn.to/2pDwZ1b needs higher temperature 220 - 260 c. My M2 uses 19v from two Dell taptop PSUs and the printed manual came with the printer states don't use temperature higher than 220c. Can 1st gen M2 hotend go beyond 220c? I'm hesitated to go beyond 220c as my M2 has melted RAMB0 power connectors twice already. Thanks.

You can take the hotend up to 235C on the V3a. The melting connectors are primarily from running the heated bed so hot -- the hotend won't do that.
