PEI cracking

Post by theboz1419 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 9:01 am

I just finished a print and while starting my next print i noticed the PEI cracked in a few places. What would cause it to crack and how would I prevent this from happening. I assume that this is stress related, I do run at 100 bed temp.

Luckily, the 7 hour print I'm doing tonight, is not ruin by a few marks on the print, but this will put me behind some more until I get a new piece on Tuesday, grrrrrr.

I will try to post a picture later today. I believe it's one I received from you, I'm not 100% sure though as I had made one too, and my memory is not that good, lol.

I don't think that's mine -- mine have a yellow PEI layer that's very thick.

Of course, can I toot my own horn and say inferior PEI or construction was the cause?

Yeah, I don't think it was yours also. I removced the print this morning and there was no marks, so for now, it's staying put.
