failed print multiple times
failed print multiple times
I have been printing various materials with success on my M2 for quite a while.
I print mainly in PETG.
I have just been trying to print a 2 hour model at least 3 -4 times with fails. I did get 2 good prints out fully, but others have failed.
It prints well for a few layers, I leave it to print over night or sometimes just leave the room, when I come back, it has only printed 3-6 layers and the machine is either air printing or has homed and stopped.
The nozzle is not blocked, the extruder seems to be set for the right tension, getting the right teeth marks in the PETG filament, there are no knots in my reel.
What is happening?
I am worried that I am not getting consistent heating in the nozzle......
I began to notice some problems with failed prints, at one point when I looked at the nozzle temp it looked like it was set but when I immediately restarted the machine it read a very low temp.
It appeared at that time that the nozzle stopped heating but the readout didn't show it as such. I restarted S3D and it started heating up to quote again.
Not sure if nozzle heating is the true root of my problem, but need to resolve.
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: failed print multiple times
Cant speak definitively but try lowering the tension on your filament. You might be compressing it too much and causing it to stop feeding.
Re: failed print multiple times
Any trouble with extruder temperature control boils down to a bad thermistor or a broken wire in the cable to the RAMBo.psd wrote:when I looked at the nozzle temp it looked like it was set but when I immediately restarted the machine it read a very low temp
Order & install a new thermistor before doing anything else to avoid disappearing down a rabbit hole of useless changes.
Re: failed print multiple times
thank you bratag and ednisley.
I am actually working through this problem with tech at Makergear, since the problem appears to be an electrical support from somewhere.....?
thanks again
