Extruder and XYZ stepper mortes stooped working

Post by jspeckman » Sat Jan 20, 2018 5:07 pm

Hi,

Last night I had a print fail due to the bed plate screw (back one) fall off. I stopped the print after hearing it from the other room it was still moving and "printing". I hit the power switch ASAP. Now after finding the 3 parts and reattaching them I went to turn it back on. The steppers will not move Via LCD (direct connection to MB), OctoPrint, or S3D. The hot ends do heat up and the MB does not seem to show any lights of an issue, and the Communication to the MB seems fine ( echos the temps). The steppers seem o move freely if engaged or not engaged.

I have -
- Powered if off fully
- Checked the fuse ( it looks and test out ok)
- Sent commands to it ( does not move)
- disabled or enabled, the steppers move freely with both

What am I missing?

Please and Thank you!

There are three fuses on the RAMBo. Two of them are really tiny surface-mount components. I bet one's blown (for some reason). Test "F2" on the board for continuity with the power disabled.

Make sure all the connectors are properly seated.

Make sure the motor power connector has screwed-tight connections.

Measure the voltage at the power supply screw terminals.

Make sure all the motor connectors are properly seated in the RAMBo.

Then check all the fuses ...

(Edit: Add a first step, because everybody misses it now and again.)

ok test everything you guys suggested, all tested out good but I then noticed that the main power plug looked odd. Moved it around and yup it was loose. reseated it and powered it up it is now working big thanks, guys. For others that come upon this thread here is a pic with the small fuses. Image
