Need some advice on a suction device

Post by quentinthornton » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:39 pm

Hey guys, I'm setting up a ventilation system using this pool hose. What would you guys suggest I use as the suction device? I was thinking of lining up a couple computer fans, or using a hairdryer without the heat coils :D, but I was just wondering if there were other options that you guys think would be better. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

That link doesn't work. What diameter is the hose?

I would suggest visiting Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and looking in their HVAC departments. I did that the other night to solve a similar problem. It is amazing the variety of stuff they have on-hand.
I used an inline fan and flexible dryer vent tubing. It may be too large for what you have in mind, but looking at their stock might give you some good ideas.

I keep stealing my wife's CPAP hoses out of the trash when she gets new ones. I use them with my shop vac when I need to clear chips out of things that I'm machining. Would be about the perfect size for what your're doing. https://www.amazon.com/CPAP-Hose-Holder ... Bhose&th=1
