MakerGear M2 motors won't jog or home

Post by stxal » Fri Apr 10, 2020 8:36 pm

After following the recommendations suggested by MG tech support, my problem persists; namely that none of the motors on my M2 v4 will run. They neither jog nor home.
This machine was stored in my closet for about 2 1/2 years in a plastic garbage bag. When extracted it I was happy to see that it looked pretty clean. So I gave it some light lubrication and plugged it into my MacBook Pro (running Catalina) and booted up the current version of Simplify3d. I turned it on and fans started running, the extruder and print bed heat up, but none of the motors will respond to either jog or home commands. They do nothing.... not a hum nor any sign of movement.
At the instruction of MG tech support, I have checked to see that the power connection to the board is properly seated, tested the fuses (all good), tested the limit switches (all good), checked the voltage of the power supply (24v across the board), the thermistors both show ambient temperature. I have additionally cleaned the motor contacts both at the board and at the motors. I have inspected the board and neither side shows any signs of corrosion. All the LED's on the board are lit up.
I do live in the tropics and the humidity is always high here (Virgin Islands) so it's not uncommon for electronics to fail.  Tech support says he suspects the RAMBo board is the issue. Makes sense to me. Any input would be appreciated.

so you have sent the printer a G28 and it does nothing or you use the buttons on S3D to try and make the motors run?
Go to the terminal and send a G28 if you have not done so. I assume MG support would have had you do that. Also send a M503 and post the output here so we can see the defaults.

Thanks for your input. Tech support did not have me send the G28 command. When I sent it it did produce a brief "buzz" that I assume was a motor trying to move. Jog and home commands still do nothing although I can produce a buzz when clicking a +X command. The log for G28 is simply followed by a string of M105. As for the M503, below is the log, probably not formatted correctly, but should be correct as to content (had to use OCR to read a screen shot).
