I made whoDats LCD enclosure

Post by jdacal » Mon Jul 14, 2014 6:57 am

This is my second project with the new M2. Only really bad thing I see is the two rear corners curled up a bit, otherwise fully functional. I also made an HD video that you can see on Vimeo:

I think all this needs for near-perfection is jimc's clamp to firmly hold the 6=pin power input connector in place. Nice print!

I had seen your enclosure jimc but I somehow missed that there was a Viki version. Looks nice, I like the way its offset to the right.

I need to make this. My LCD walks off the table with the vibration.

What is Jimc's clamp? do you have a link?

yes here is a link to my box. no viki but if you click on the "made" link there is a guy there who modified my box to fit a viki. the clamp/lock is just a piece that goes on the back side which holds in the power connectors on the rambo keeping them from coming loose and having a melt down.

I originally did the print in PLA. Shortly after the cover warped on it. Either due to heat from the board or possibly the wiring harnesses inside applying some upward pressure to the PLA cover.

I re-printed the cover with ABS and seems to be holding up fine now.
