Try to reset the printer( power down-up) did not help .I suppose it is an hardware problem (controller board ?) but before iI begin to do any thing may be it some thing other ? It's time to clean & lubricate the guide rods and leadscrew: they're now dirty enough to stall the underpowered Z-axis motor.

AFAICT, the right time to clean & lube is when the motor stalls, rather than pretending to do regular maintenance. [grin]

With the power off, unplug the motor and turn the leadscrew by hand (well, fingers) to move the platform from top to bottom and back again. I think you'll find some sections, probably in the middle of the travel, will require much more effort than others. Concentrate your cleaning in those areas until the platform moves smoothly with more-or-less equal effort over the entire leadscrew.

The old-old high resistance Z axis motor is marginal, at best, and your well-worn M2 may require more torque than it can produce. Upgrading to the correct motor will dramatically improve the performance.

Because we live in the future, motors with T8 integrated leadscrews are now cheap & readily available:

Amazon may not be the right choice for you, but those motors+leadscrews should give you an idea of what to get.

If you can move the platform smoothly from bottom to top with just finger torque on the leadscrew, then replace the motor.

For conclusive proof, remove the four screws holding the Z-axis follower nut to the platform, hold the platform near the top, and home the Z-axis. If the leadscrew turns freely with no load, then replace the motor.

If the leadscrew doesn't turn freely with no load, then something has screwed up the homing speed / acceleration configuration (and likely other settings), so you must recalibrate everything.

Unfortunately, for old M2s with the wrong Z-axis motor, it's that simple.

Hi ED
The problem is the motor . do you know if all motors that you send to my in the link has the some screws and some thread spacing as the MG original Z motor??
