Re: hoping to join the makergear community soon!
Did learn I can get 15 to 20 builds before the glass plate need to be cleaned, or the hair spray
removed with a 3" razor paint scraper. After each build I re-coated the glass with a healthy
dose of Aquanet extra hold in the aerosol can. It does turn brown and needs to soak in
warm water to soften the caked hair spray.
I have 3 glass plates and upon release, the ABS popped off and took some of the glass with it.
No problem, just flipped to the other side.
Goal is to make 250 of these rings out of ABS and I'm about 1/2 way done. I make
6 to 10 rings a day, so this is a long drawn out process, 250 of these rings will more than
pay for my M2-S3D cost. Plus, the excellent lead into my webstore, cuz these rings are
only available from me, or a download off Thingiverse account.
What's the best setting in the Creative Commons license feature at Thingiverse?
I want to retain ownership of the design, but share it with 3D printing community,
but not companies who would steal my invention (with jimc's help) for mass production.

Just received payment for my flashforge! Looks like I should be able to order the M2 kit today. I sent an email to makergear just to check if there are any discounts or anything I can get.
Anyone know how much shipping is on the kit?
Will keep you guys updated!

Re: hoping to join the makergear community soon!
Found out shipping is $90! I just shipped a 22x21x17 box weighing 30lbs with $500 insurance priority and it was only $50.
Still no word from makergear.
Total cost is $1,565 and I have close to 900 in paypal. I am so nervous about going ahead and buying it!

Re: hoping to join the makergear community soon!
The 1st printer I bought was 800 dollar Plastic Scribbler off brand, this unit arrive broke
and looked like junk with a luan frame and angled aluminum corner/"L" brackets like
you could buy from the local hardware.
My biggest concern was not so much the price, but if I could learn how to use it.
Read the reviews on Amazon, which I think in the history of Amazon is one of the
highest ranking.
To this point in time, I'm pushing over 700 successful prints in prototype, new to
the market ...in fishing tackle and the M2 is going to make 10 more parts today.
I've had an extruder motor holder/bracket break, purchased 3 hot ends, and parts
to rebuild the v3bs and printed 4, or 5 extruder drives. If you can beat that
with any other brand of printer, please let us know.
While my M2 is very valuable to me, the help I've get here has exceeded all
expectations. This board is a tremendous resource for all. Super advanced members
have helped me get over the rough spots and jimc's advice is priceless! I count myself
as lucky to have purchased my printer from Makergear and the 2k for an assembled M2 with S3D
is chicken feed for the potential this machine offers!

Re: hoping to join the makergear community soon!
Well guys,
I pulled the trigger on the M2 kit!!! Thanks for all the encouragement, it really helped out a lot! I stayed up until about 2am last night reading all sorts of amazon reviews and then finding jetguys thread about his whole experience with the dreamer really helped to make up my mind. Was a lot to read through but it was worth it.
I cannot wait to get my kit, I just hate that there is a 2-3 week lead time! and I still have not heard back from makergear which, to be honest, is a little disappointing after hearing about how quickly they usually respond. But I won't hold that against them!
Looking forward to the build and to joining the rest of you owners out there!
Also, What exactly are those diver rings for? Been a long time since I have gone scuba diving and I don't remember anything like that!

Haha thats what i thought when john gave me one to model but it actually has something to do with fishing. Not sure what though.
Well for a response from makergear, please remember it is the weekend. 2-3 week lead time isnt bad. When i ordered i think it was 8 weeks or so.

I know how you feel about the wait time, just went through it myself. Trust me, it's worth the wait. I'm really enjoying mine.
