my blue looks ok.....atleast the beginning of the roll. strange since this is the first batch produced and all our blue probably came off the same master spool. i still havent printed with it yet. just havent had a chance. i worked all day today.

All three of mine were fine, around 1.74.

My son designed something in TinkerCAD which is a cube and raised lettering on all 6 sides. It was rotated to stand on a corner. I tried to print it in blue PETG. I know I could have rotated it, but since it needed support anyway I didn't bother. I had problems getting the point to stick to the bed, so I tried printing on top of a raft and this picture shows the result. When I checked on it the top looked all stringy and there was a clump dragging around on the nozzle. This time bed adhesion doesn't look like the issue, this looks like stringing to me.

I was printing at 250C on a 110C bed. Any opinions on what caused the problem? What's the approach to combat stringing?

Here's a picture of the nightmare model I'm trying to print in PETG.

that just looks like the raft in the pic. your part hasnt printed yet. i have only used the raft feature a couple times in s3d and i didnt like it. it was really strange as though it spaced the layers far apart so they wouldnt stick you each other. that could be what your seeing any why the ends of the lines are pulling. mine looked similar in abs. if i need support for small parts i use a brim.

The raft finished printing, the support has started printing, the model only touches at a single point at this stage. The reason I killed the print is there was a clump being dragged around on the nozzle and you can see a clump on the lower right. I was thinking this clump was caused by stringing.

pet likes to clump on the nozzle if its not printing right. any of the guys who used the pet+ know all about that. looks to me like your support and raft material wasnt staying completly stuck down smooth and your nozzle keeps dragging though it slowly collecting. i was just on another forum and some else posted this exact same thing but with pla. they must have posted the exact same time as you...weird coincidence i guess. dont go tuning your pet profile though due to that raft. layer heights arent normal for rafts and the layer that goes on it which would be your support. this is why the ends of the lines are curling up and collecting on the nozzle. if the layer heights were the same as your model then the raft would be bonded to the part.

I don't have a clue what you're trying to tell me to do.

lmao, telling you to not use a raft. i think the raft will be prone to that. try a brim 2-3 layers thick and maybe 12 or so outlines. honestly though, that is an odd orientation to print this thing. isnt there a flat side anywhere that can go down?

I'm printing a good sized print now. If this prints without any layer separation, warping, etc., its bye-bye ABS for me.
