Thanks again guys for the kind words and advice.
Been printing as much as I can these past few days. Started a nice robot model and about 20mins later I found I had left my infill at %100! cancelled that print pretty quick should have been at something like %5, would have wasted a ton of plastic!

Just finished printing a beautiful tricopter frame and as far as I can tell, there are no issues or artifacts (is that the right word?) on the prints at all. S3D is doing a beautiful job and the printer is running perfectly. I do have a couple of questions though.

1. The clips that hold the glass plate on.... where is the best place to put them? can I somehow get rid of them? I started a large print and the fan hit one up front (just barely) and the nozzle slammed into one of the clips on the back side. Should I just be more careful placing my prints in S3D? or is there a better method?

2. The wire harness coming off of the HBP, it isn't really supported at all.... is there a better way to support those wires? would someone mind posting a pic of how theirs is hanging?

3. At the end of a print the bed just drops down full speed and slams into the Z motor. Is there a way to prevent this? maybe an end g-code that will take it to the bottom in a controlled manner so it only has a few mm to drop instead of 8-9 inches! I seen a printable spring type device that I may print in the meantime to help.

ok for #1, you just need to be careful. you can get an idea where to put them by your layout in s3d. try printing yourself a different fan bracket that raises your bed fan for more clearance. here is one i designed that works well.

#3 there is an ending gcode that some of the guys use and have passed around.

What a simple way to solve the wire issue! As soon as my current print is finished I am going to redo the wires and then print out your fan bracket. I noticed it the other day on thingiverse, just haven't got around to printing it out yet. Will also change the end g-code when the print is done. Thanks for all the help!

wiring is re-done. Added the end g-code you gave me and am getting ready to print the fan mount.

This might be a dumb question but I noticed in the post processing that you can add a celebration tune..... will that work with the M2? I know it is cheesy but I think it would be cool

you know i have never tried it. i believe its for makerbots or clones only

i just finished modeling this and havent printed it or tried it yet. i will post up the model if you want to give it a shot to see how it does. i know you were asking about the bed clips. this should hold the bed glass in place so there is no movement and not stick up past the glass. just give me some feedback on tolerances etc. its set up for an m3 screw. hole will need to be tapped or the screw just threaded into the hole.

jimc, did you intend to post an STL or other file for the bed clip? I'd also like to try it.

haha yeah here ya go. i have a version of this thing on my m2 but it was quick and just uses the screw. it works really well. its not meant to be a clamp or put pressure on the glass, just take out any play so there is no movement. forgot to mention these are modeled in inches. s3d should scale it automatically.

Looks nice! I am about halfway through the fan mount. Will have to print those brackets tomorrow. Is PLA okay to to print those in or should I use ABS since they will be touching the HBP?

I am still blown away by how much better this thing prints than my old flashforge! holes through vertical surfaces never came out very good on the FF. I am going to reprint a quadcopter arm that I did on the FF to see how well it compares tomorrow. will try to post pictures.
