I was wondering if it's possible to print with finer z resolution for just a certain section of a print. Mainly a section with a fairly steep overhang.
I'm printing enclosures for my custom 52mm automotive gauges and the overhang areas print soo much nicer at .1 mm but printing the whole object at .1mm more then doubles the print time.
Also, I have spent a lot of time re-printing parts until the perfect tolerances were achieved. When I switch from pla to abs am I likely to encounter a lot of issues with parts no longer fitting the same way?
Couple pics. In the last pic I have the part in question sitting with the print-bed side facing up.

Re: Different layer heights for certain parts of a print and
yes you can do it. i did it a long time ago but from what i remember everything went smoothly
Re: Different layer heights for certain parts of a print and
Do you remember how to instruct it to do so? I'm a total newb with 3d printing and s3d. So far I have only printed using others profiles and really have no idea how I could do such a thing.
Re: Different layer heights for certain parts of a print and
yes, you will need to set up multiple processes for the print. read this tutorial over.
