Aw yus scored a 3rd M2 for cheap

Post by insta » Mon Feb 16, 2015 4:56 pm

Somebody on reddit was selling their used/broken M2 for $500. Online store added $5 shipping. $505 shipped for an M2, woo! Paid through PayPal so I can reverse if necessary.

Apparently it needs a RAMBo ... I may use it as the test-bench for some 3rd party things we've talked about in the forums before, like different electronics, the Micron extruders, etc.

I'll post pictures if/when it arrives...

We have a few older M2s that are not being used and we could sell at or near that price. The problem is that someone needs to go through them and determine what, if any, problems they have. We do not have time to do that at the moment. It is too expensive to ship them around without knowing...

I sense "instas refurbed M2s, LLC" here.

"instas refurbed M1.9s, LLC"?
"instas refurbed M2-inspired printers, LLC"?

I've done the math I can make this work if you have like six or more (assuming "at that price" was the $500 number not the $1000 number). I'll rent a minivan and drive 24 hours there and back to get them. I feel fairly confident in my ability to reassemble M2s now :)

I've received some PMs about the older machines. We probably have five of the older machines. These are not machines that we would fix up and sell but I am willing to make them available to experienced M2 owners at a low cost since we are not using them. I am really not interested in seeing these machines fixed up and re-sold. These would be machines for experienced end users.

I need to figure out how to get these machines evaluated before i will be comfortable shipping them.

Rick
