does this PETG have phthalates in it? read some nasty stuff about phthalates and how it's a endocrine disruptor... http://www.breastcancerfund.org/clear-s ... lates.html

So it doesn't smell and put toxic chemicals in the air while printing like ABS.. but now you have to worry about handling it?

Er, jimc, do you have proof of "its food safe"? The "T" in PET is terephthalate. We have no idea what treatment soda bottles go through or if it's even the same resin.

taulman's lab analysis as well as most pet filaments are fda approved for drink and food contact.

I have proof. I drank from my cup made from PETg and I haven't died yet. :D

Of course, I think I'm supposed to have been dead many times over from those times as a kid when I gathered up all the mercury that fell out of the broken thermometer and rolled it around in my hand. Kids these days, they have to spend so much time avoiding instant death that they can't have any fun. . .

Nah, doing that just made us stupid. Imagine what we could accomplish if we were still smart. [sigh]

Once upon a time, Santa delivered a palm-size plastic maze containing a drop of mercury: I loved that thing!

Has anyone tried a dual extrusion of PETG with PLA supports? Wondering if it would work, and be any easier to remove.

Yesterday I started playing with the dual extruder again with the new version of Simplify3D. This is a test piece I designed in Autodesk Fusion 360 and printed in 2 colors of petg. A few new challenges on this, petg looks great when printed in vase mode and dual extrusion is inherently incompatible with vase mode since you obviously aren't going to be printing one continuous line. Setting with 1 outer shell and 1 bottom layer and no top layers produced this, but as you can see each body has its own complete exterior so that's why I ended up with the internal dividers. I think it would be cool to print a vase with color changes in the wall, but I'm not sure how to do that without ending up with a double wall.

Do you think flexible filaments will stick to PETG?
