Is pi/octoprint setup cheaper or better on features?

With only one machine I really don't need one, but if I ever go into production using multiple machines I'd want to free them from the computer and just run the same part all day.

OctoPrint and Viki handle two different things, and are very complementary. If you want to jog around, preheat, etc ... there's very little that's easier than with the Viki. I've tried OctoPrint and direct host control and while they obviously work fine, they're more cumbersome because you have to look at the computer, click the button, look at the printer and see if it worked, back and forth. Feeding filament in is way easier with Viki if the computer and printer are more than arms-length apart.
