A quick inspection and above is what I found. I guess the wire bridge on the back of my bed isn't working to well.
Had my first HBP wire casualty today.
Had my first HBP wire casualty today.
I had my first failed print in a long time today running ABS. Not just a failure to feed like sometimes happens, we're talking pieces and birds nest everywhere failure. It was weird because I just did all my maintenance (lube, greased, leveled, ect.) too before starting the print. It looked like the piece came off the build surface which is even weirder because I using PEI. After cleaning up the mess and trying to restart it I notice my temperature history and it looks like the bed shut off mid way through the print and then came back on. I little wiggle of the HBP wire and it happened again.

It was an easy fix but it is a reminder that it doesn't hurt to insect your wires now and again as part of your routine maintenance.

Did the wire melt/fray? Wondering how this happened and if it is common.
I am seriously considering purchasing a first time M2 from Amazon and I am spending some time on the forum to help me decide.

The wire breaking is an old, old problem that's been fixed like 3 revisions ago. The Amazon one (the Rev E) is rock-solid.jpvonhemel wrote:Did the wire melt/fray? Wondering how this happened and if it is common.

Re: Had my first HBP wire casualty today.
It did not melt it just frayed from constant movement of the wires between two heat shrink points on the harness, but this is an older machine and like insta said this issue has been fixed on the new machines. I have 3 M2's that run pretty much constantly when I am home they are rock solid machines that have given me very few problems over the years.... you will not be disappointed if you buy one.jpvonhemel wrote:Did the wire melt/fray?
