side skirt

I want to put on a side-skirt to help hold down my part when printing. How do I do that? I have a M2

You want a brim. That extends the bottom surface to help with adhesion.

If you are designing the part, you would do that in the cad software.
If you are using other peoples parts you would use a brim as was suggested. If you are using Simplified 3D you do the in the additional tab, under skirt, use 1 layer, 0 offset and multiple outline.. start with 5 and see how that works.
Hope that helps
