Odd Z stepper behavior

I am having a problem with my Z stepper motor, which is the current 24V design. What is happening is that on faster motion near the top of the travel the motor slips. For example when I start a print, the motor successfully reaches the home position, lowers the z height for the wipe procedure, moves...

Re: Problems with Jamming of new filament extruder

I had done that and oscillated between the extruder gear machining away the filament so it would not move and immediately jamming. Interestingly, I tried running ColorFabb PLA/PHA through it tonight at it works flawlessly. So I must have a problem with the compression of the PET. I will need to exer...

Problems with Jamming of new filament extruder

My original extruder cracked recently when I had a failure of the thermistor on my V3B hotend. The temp was reading fine when in reality it was too low and the part cracked with the forces applied. I was lucky to be in the room when things went bad, and was able to shut it down. But the crunch was a...

That is the one I am working on. Thanks for putting the design on Thingiverse!

Re: MakerGear PLA+ ????

What temperature does it start getting soft at? I doubt it will differ much from regular PLA. But for the majority of what we use it for that does not matter. For most so what we do it works really well. One really cool trick with the PLA/PHA is that if you need a very smooth surface, you can sand ...

Re: HIPS & PET+

I am planning on trying out the esun material when I get a chance to buy some. I wanted to try the XT first as it seemed to have a good reputation and I can pick it up from Matt very easily. Tim, I will try higher temperatures once I get my E3D V6 on my M2. I should be able to get those parts printe...

Re: MakerGear PLA+ ????

I have been using quite a bit of the ColorFabb PLA/PHA filament. The kids on my son's robotics team have been printing parts out of it nearly round the clock for 2 months. This co-polymer is strong, tough and very simple to get very high quality prints. When I get a chance I want to make a couple te...

Re: HIPS & PET+

just something i have found out on the pet+. the opaques dont layer bond anywhere near as well as the clear or translucents. its not extremely bad or anything but its nothing crazy either. i found its very similar or just a hair under that of abs. i have done some testing on this and actually went ...

Re: HIPS & PET+

The bond is weak enough in spots that the part would crack if used. There is visable separation of outer perimeters in places and a fingernail can peel them away. It also does not handle where it is building on top of supports well at all. it can take up to 15 layers to sort that out. I will take im...

Re: HIPS & PET+

I have been working with some PET+ from MadeSolid (opaque white) trying to make my extruder for my E3D V6 hot end. The problem I am having is that the filament is not sticking to itself. The exterior perimeters are not bonded to each other or the inner fill. I am using the .fff file posted more rece...
