Small problem with the plastic piece of my extruder

So when I change my roll I have to remove the plastic piece in the front of the extruder, feed the plastic through it, into the extruder, and then reattach that plastic piece. If I just try feed it through the plastic piece it gets jammed, every time without fail. This problem has persisted through ...

Re: Need some guidance

it should be 3mm tall +- .02 and 1.1 - 1.13 mm thick. PETG does not like thin layers if you are trying to print at .1 mm or something that is not going to work well I use Overture transparent all thee time, great stuff.. but if Z offset is too close will not work out well at all . Airscapes, Wishin...

Re: Need some guidance

set your extrusion width to manual and .55 and print the attached. Show me what it looks like when done 2 walls at .55 3mm tall.stl IMG_1581.jpeg IMG_1583.jpeg This prints ok, I'll find my tool and measure it for evenness. I suspect one core is higher than it needs to be and that's why the printing...

Re: Need some guidance

I am not sure what I am looking at, what type of filament is that, what nozzle size are you using and what layer height.. Once I know that I will give you a factory file to print and we will see what come out. Looks to me like the starting height is too close It's PETG at 230 degrees with a .5 nozz...

Need some guidance

Can't quite figure out what's wrong here and how to fix it. I've tried releveling twice.

For a year everything was perfect but I accidentally deleted my S3D profile and now nothing works.

Re: How to fix this

Thank you for all your help. I don't know if I did it quite the way you intended but I got this figured out and now everything is running beautifully. Weirdly one of the things that turned out to be an issue is there are tangles in this particular spell of plastic. The plastic just gets cinched caus...

Re: How to fix this

My nozzle is .5 width. I have some calipers but I ordered the ones you linked as I've been on the hunt for a better pair.

Re: How to fix this

Everything I wrote is not your problem :-) Not being there to see it happening hard to. Looks like inconsistent extrusion, slicer issue if you are just starting out, Z offset issue too close to bed, clogged nozzle, too thin a layer.. PETG is not something you use when printing .2mm layer.. PETG wor...
