Uninterruptable Power Supply for M2?

I live outside of Boston, and we've been having a lot of thunderstorms lately (including right now...). Power outages are rare, but they do occur. Most of them don't last more than a half an hour or so. I've thought off & on about getting UPS to get through the shorter outages. My M2E is specified a...

Re: First Layer Cal with PETG

Who's PETG are you using? I have been using HatchBox, and 230C is about 10 degrees too low.

Re: Mirror mode? How?

That sounds more like a slicer setting than a printer feature.

Re: Uneven extrusion?

Have you cleaned and lubricated your rails? Also, check your belt tension.

Re: Woops, what happens with my printer?

One of the things I've found on the rare occasions that I remember to clean my Z-axis lead screw is a ball of super fine fuzz at the top of the screw. This is basically almost invisible stringing that is occurring during large moves that has gotten blown around by the fans and has found its way onto...

Re: Strange noise when full traveling the Z-axis

Update: I checked with Tech Support, and they said it was OK to try some oil, but VERY sparingly to avoid it getting down into the motor. I used an "acid brush" ( https://www.amazon.com/RAM-PRO-Flexible-Horsehair-Bristle-Tubular/dp/B01LXNQW9W ) with a single drop of high viscosity silicone oil ( htt...

Re: Resonances in X & Y Axis?

Thanks for the comments! I thought about the infil initially. I'm using 3 perimeters, and that's usually enough to kill a lot of "ghostling" from the infil. The print is mostly hollow, although the wall are thick enough that there's a tiny strip of infil in them. However, if you look at the results ...

Re: Resonances in X & Y Axis?

The print with the tightened X-axis belt is better, but only after several centimeters, so I think the problem is best described as "prolonged ringing". X-Axis Belt Tightened.jpg Here are the speed, acceleration & jerk results from an M503 query: Maximum feedrates (mm/s): M203 X200.00 Y200.00 Z25.00...

Resonances in X & Y Axis?

I have an M2E that is about 3 1/2 years old. It's a home hobby machine, so it hasn't been hammered on too hard. I just ran a test print for a friend, and I'm seeing repeating patterns on the surface of the print in both X & Y that I don't recall seeing in the past, or at least no where near as prono...
