Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

making progress.. removed the M206 from the adv file set the max Z to 212, using your steps per mm and converting my jerk settings that were stock to mm/min was able to print a 2 walled square and get the z offset set using the config 208 and restart the board.. not going to be a simple as it is wit...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Yes, that is great news, glad it went well!
I am going to try and ignore the elephant that is sitting on the table next to me for a couple days, I need to chill a bit.. I get rather obsessed about projects, especially when they take longer than I think they should ;-)
Thanks again!

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

The Z steps that are in the config that I posted to the Duet forum will be the ones that I’m using. I didn’t mess with them at all while I was getting it all up and running. I arrived on the new value by using a digital dial indicator to verify that the bed was travelling what I was instructing it ...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Hey Where did you get this value for steps per mm on Z in your config (from duet forum post) and are you using this value or did it get changed. It does not match the supposid value in the old Marlin config found on the old makergear m2 firmware site which I have listed below Your config M92 X88.89...

Re: M2 RevE Z stepper steps per mm

Ed, the 1007.7 is what is in the stock firmware for the RevE as found on the old firmware page which is where I got it originally. So what exactly are you suggesting I measure on the lead screw. Was trying to measure the space between the theads, and came up with 1/16 can't get hold of a thread with...

M2 RevE Z stepper steps per mm

So I am trying to get my M2 changed over to a Duet 32 bit main board. I am not going to call this an upgrade because it has been a real pain in the butt so far. Does anyone know the number of steps per mm for the Z stepper motor and the pitch of the lead screw. The wiki has the following info The Z ...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

I have hit a wall. Have most things working.. can home all axis, heater works, extruder works, fans work. But bed was stopping about 12 or 13mm from the nozzle at 0 so after much mucking around. I have the max Z set to 218 which stops it 10mm from the top of the gantry (hot end removed) I then added...

Re: M2 rev.E - black z motor leadscrew pitch?

I bet you are exactly right, just for the heck of it I’ll adjust the steps per mm slightly to align with that value and give it a try to see what happens. Thanks for the reply Ed, good to see you are still around the forum here. Real old post but doing this myself and not finding the pitch of the l...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Making progress but more questions google is not helping with.. I was asked on the Duet forum what amperage will I be running my stepper motors. How would I know? I can't even find info on what model motor these are and the Extruder is not the same as the x and y and the of course the z is also diff...
