Re: Glowforge laser printer

I am joining the party a little late, and I have to apologize because I didn't know this thread was hear and I pre-ordered without using the provided referral link :( so I feel pretty bad about that. I am hoping you had it maxed out already. I am pretty excited about getting this thing but I hate th...

Re: Favorite Print Surface?

Stock glass plate with some aquanet hairspray with PLA. the most important factor for making sure something sticks is making sure the bed it level and the Z-height is correct. So maybe include some better instructions on those two things as well as calibrations. I have used Buildtak in the past with...

Re: How can I slow the Z movement before the purge?

It worked fine for the first 6 months or so and then that started happening. It doesn't do it everytime. Last time I lubricated the printer I used the grease included with the kit and I don't remember if I did the smooth rods but I do remember cleaning them with isopropyl alcohol. I have some tri-fl...

Re: How can I slow the X movement before the purge?

I am an idiot.... yes I meant Z! Thanks for the help guys, I will adjust it and let you know what happens!

Last time I lubricated it with the included grease is when it really started skipping. Should I use a lighter machine oil or something?

How can I slow the Z movement before the purge?

Hello all, I have an issue where sometimes the Z motor will skip when it tries to move the bed up really fast right before it purges the nozzle. How can I slow this movement down? I have been just sitting by my M2 before it starts a print and helping the bed up with my hand to prevent the motor from...

Re: what would be the best filament for this application?

I was curious about using a smaller nozzle, I also have my extrusion width set to .40 so maybe lowering it to .35 could help.... I have been wanting a smaller nozzle to try some higher resolution prints anyways. The price on the resin printer that I have been looking at dropped from $1480 to $850 so...

Re: what would be the best filament for this application?

Thanks for all the info and help everyone. The Turbofan blades Max RPMs should not exceed 50K, They will be attached to an electric motor for a scale rc airplane, not an actual turbine!!! I know there are a lot of plastic ducted fans out there but I couldn't tell you the rpms or anything on them, I ...

what would be the best filament for this application?

Hello all, I was recently contacted with a request to print scale turbofan engines for a radio controlled Boeing 737! I have been flying rc for 20 years and I love 3D printing so I couldn't turn down the chance! Basically will be printing an 18 bladed fan that has a 150 mm diameter that will be spin...

Re: Resin based 3D printer discussion

I have seen a lot of parts that are warped badly on the bottom. Let me know how your low shrink resin does. I e-mailed Formlabs to see if they offer any military discounts, they do not but I was offered a free cartridge of resin, so that was nice of them. I also e-mailed CTC to see how quickly they ...
