Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Airscapes, the Z axis will be another difference between our setups as I’m running an e3d titan, v6 nozzle, and a customer carriage mount for the motor. I have lost some Z axis travel as a result. I have my Z max for the printer set to the stock 200, but I fine tune the actual offset to somewhere ar...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Yeah that was a tricky one, as I dont think there is a way of extracting that info from the machine as-is. But rather, if download your factory firmware from the Wiki, you can go through the files and find that setting. I believe its 0.8A, which was the default in the configurator tool anyway. It’s ...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Thanks man, I appreciate the well wishes. You could be right about the connectors being compatible. I changed them all just for the sake of uniformity and I knew my RAMBo was toast anyway so I wasn’t worried about reverting back, as it is unlikely, and shouldn’t be too hard to redo the connections i...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Airscapes, I just realized that I missed one of your question posts before. I do not have a BL touch sensor. I mechanically level my bed using a dial indicator and recording the measurements in a grid pattern and then I strategically apply layers of kapton tape to the underside of the buildtak flexp...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

The fan outputs are typically the voltage supplied by your PSU for everything else, OR you can jumper them to be powered by 5v that the board converts.

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

This is where I bought it from: https://spool3d.ca/duet-2-wifi-3d-printer-control-board/ I got the board with the integrated antenna, but I would do the external antenna if I bought it again. The signal isnt super strong and I'm not that far from the router. I've had my crimpers since I bought the M...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Perfect! a couple weeks will be far more than enough. If I were to have sat down and did it all start to finish I could have banged it out in a weekend.

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

I'll try to get as much info as I can here. Just an FYI since this is a large part of what is driving your decision, I printed a fan guard last night in PETG with a 0.25mm nozzle and I made the screw holes 3.5mm in fusion, and in real life they were 3.25mm. I attribute this disparity to thermal shri...

Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Hey everyone, after I blew the Z stepper driver on my printer's original Rambo board, I decided to upgrade to a Duet 2 wifi. I just wanted to make this post now that the printer is back up and running and say how pleased I am with the upgrade, and to recommend for anyone to do the same if they are i...

Re: Z motor or its driver damaged?

Update: The X and Y axes both behave normally, so I swapped the Z for the Y and now Z moves as it should when I use the Y controls, and Y just shakes and sounds like crap. It appears that I have damaged the board. Definitely not thrilled about having to replace the whole board because 1 stepper driv...
