Re: Raspberry Pi 3
Thanks Ed, I'll try that first. BTW, fantastic web site, I just spent an hour there. Best quote so far: "The interior of the dryer is filled with sharp edges and hatred, so expect some bloodshed" It looks like we've got some hobby overlap. You might like this toolchanger I built for my my cnc mill. ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3
So, my Octoprint server has started behaving badly again. Times out when I try to connect, if I cycle power, it will come up but will only stay available for an hour or so (it will complete prints of any length, you just can't get to it with the web interface). It's been almost exactly a year since ...

Re: Move Z-Endstop to the bottom
The old way would require getting out the wrench and moving the bolt in a way without any measurement. I didn't like the bolt/nut setup of the original top-endstop. It was inconvenient and inelegant. I replaced the bolt with a special bolt that has a large flat knurled head with a diameter of about...

Re: Move Z-Endstop to the bottom
What's the advantage of having the Z-endstop on the bottom as opposed to the top? I can think of disadvantages, such as not being able to easily shim the stop to resume a print, but I can't think of an advantage. What am I missing?

Re: Bed temp cutting out.
I called MakerGear, the guy said probably not thermistor, sounds like wiring. Told me to put a meter on it an flex the wire, I decided to just flex the wire with the machine on and watch the readout. It's a little tricky to isolate, because when you move the wire in one place it tends to move in oth...

Re: Bed temp cutting out.
As much as I love my M2, I HATE the MakerGear webstore. I don't see the thermistor for the bed anywhere. Does it use the same one as the hot-end? https://www.makergear.com/collections/parts/products/thermistor Along the same lines, I've got a 3B hotend that's never going back in, can I steal the the...

Bed temp cutting out.
My bed temp sensor is cutting out while printing. If you monitor the print from Octoprint or from the LCD, the bed temp falls to either 4c or 0c for an instant while in certain positions. My bed temperature plot looks like a straight horizontal line with deep V's every minute or two. I'm assuming a ...

Re: Continuing prints after a black out
I've saved lots of prints after running out of filament in the middle and saved one after a blackout (now on UPS). 1. Measure the height of the part where the print stopped. 2. place a shim on the Z-stop screw of the same height 3. shift the part down through the bed in S3D by the same amount 4. Sli...
