Hey everyone, I'm working on building an enclosure for my M2 which involves putting the power supply outside to keep it cool. Right now the regular power supply cable doesn't reach the printer so I'm making an extension cable.
Does anybody know the wire gauge for the power supply wires?
I could take my cable apart but I'd rather avoid that if possible since I haven't had an issue with them so far and don't want to potentially cause one. But maybe someone else has?

If you have an old-old 12 V platform heater, DO NOT extend the wires, because the current is too high for anything practical to work.
If you have a 24 V heater, then go for larger (lower numbers) than 14 AWG silicone insulated stranded wires. Don't use cheap, readily available PVC insulated wires, particularly from Amazon, because you'll likely get Chinesium conductors made from copper-plated steel or aluminum.
I'd take the opportunity to run the new wire through the braided loom directly to the platform, rather than splice it onto the existing wires, to eliminate a pair of connections.
