Working the dual upgrade in with my old frankenprinter?

I've got one of the really old M2's ... back from the RAMBO 1.0 days and dual-PSUs. I've since upgraded to RAMBO 1.3 and 24v (before the official kit came out) but the rest of my machine has remained stock save a Viki I got from the MakerGear store.
The problem I have comes from the E0 motor. The instructions seem to depend on my ability to feed wires through holes on the plastic harness doohickey. My Z motor is wired straight into my harness and does not use the JST connector like E1 does. If my only option is to cut and resolder, I can, but is there another way to handle this?
