Has anyone come up with a dial indicator mount for the dual?

Has anyone come up with a dial indicator mount that fits the V4 dual extruder setup? My M2 with V4 dual is due for a bed leveling and I've been putting it off.

Silly question, but if you remove the filament drives and the hotends, can you clamp the dial indicator in where the hotend itself clamps?

I was thinking that maybe something could be designed where you loosen and remove just the hot ends, then insert the dial indicator mount in their place and clamp it in. Either both for stability or just one of them (the left one is probably easier if you need to disconnect the wires). The real question is whether given the small opening anything 3D printed would be rigid enough to fit in there and hold the dial.

The rail should to a large degree be parallel to the gantry edge, so you can just index off that.

Although I find it very fast and super easy to align the bed by eye, based on how the gap to the bed shrinks or grows as the nozzle is moved around.

Agree with JSC, printed 50+ pounds of filament tried a dial indicator, paper, feeler gauge but the best and fastest has been the eyecrometer... Seems to be the most efficient after you get the feel.

Gantry part looks best for me, your eyes might not have to rely on this,
but the older you get? ...eyes do not improve with age.

I think something that would save you all tons of time would be to look into a Starrett 196A dial indicator kit

I have a machine shop so I have a bunch of things like this but this the 196 it has a clamp and its whats called a back plunge indicator so it lays down and comes with 3 different tips for on the end.. I use this all the time in my shop it's kinda the "go to indicator" and I don't have to take anything apart on my printer to get the bed level so its much much faster..
also its fun to have some more cool tools around
