convert M3 to M2?

Post by Brit » Mon May 08, 2023 11:16 pm

I have spent more time trying to get my M3 SE to work (which it does intermittently), with far too much stress... and some expense (wiring an ethernet, a new pi, and parts that failed and had to be replaced such as the motor and nozzles) in addition to the initial cost of the unit. Can I just convert it to an M2 by getting rid of the Octoprint and adding an sd card reader?

Support sent me this - The M3 firmware doesn't use an SD card reader, so that would need to be configured before an SD card reader would be compatible. You could revert to the M2 firmware but then we'd lose the probe functionality
