Thingiverse curation

Thingiverse is the de facto repository of printable objects, which is a shame because it is terrible in so many ways. One of the problems I have with it is the lack of curation, and the limited facilities it has for discovering the hidden gems. There are only so many remixed iPhone cases, "I'm learning OpenSCAD" boxes, and parts for printers I don't own I can take. There are the featured objects, but they tend towards the buzz worthy rather than useful, and are only refreshed occasionally. Then there is sorting by "popular", but that seems to be a "for all time" thing, so the list changes very seldom. There is no "trending" metric.

I would like to propose this thread as a partial remedy, in two ways. First, I would like to follow as many people on here as I can. Sadly, the dashboard only appears to show Friends' publications and makes, not likes or collections, but it's a start. So whoever is willing to share, please post your thingiverse username so we can follow you. (I am "jsc").

Secondly, if you come across a model that is interesting, cool, well done, useful, or otherwise noteworthy, please post a link with a brief note. Preferably but not necessarily something that hasn't been featured by Thingiverse. Preferably but not necessarily something that doesn't come up in the first few pages when sorting by popular. Preferably but not necessarily something you've already printed. Don't post things you designed yourself; those deserve their own thread! Other than that, I don't want to set limits on what should be considered. You could also choose to start a thread showcasing your find, but maybe not all things are thread-worthy, so drop a quick note in here! Ideally, this should be an website or Thingiverse app, but it's not, and this is easy. I hope people like this game.

Here's one to start:
Robust Adjustable Tilt Tablet Stand

I made this, it is sturdy, good looking, and well crafted.

You'll find me on Thingiverse as "TimEdwards".
There is room in the universe for more than one thingiverse. . . (multithingiverse theory, or something).

Hi, my M2 is less than a month old so I'm still getting the hang of PLA. My first order of ABS arrived today!

I uploaded my first contribution to Thingiverse yesterday - an add-on tool holder for slipshine's M2 spool-holder mod

here's my item: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:314180

my Thingiverse name is "SandiaSlice"

I'm dave21740 on Thingiverse.

I've only posted a couple of items on Thingiverse:

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:259213 - This is definitely a niche item, a fuselage mount for an RC heli I adapted from the stock part.
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:297786 - Yet another Z-axis stay for the M2. A beefier-than-usual one built to survive being dropped often, hurled across the room, whatever.
