I have 2 quick questions about the stepper motors:
1. My X-axis motor is a little squeaky lately. Am I able to grease or oil it?
#2 I added dampeners to my x and y axis motors; am I able to add one to the extruder motor? Would that help at all?
Quick Stepper motor questions
Re: Quick Stepper motor questions
Most likely, it's the pulley on the other end of the axis.
There have been several versions (IIRC), but a dot of oil on the top of the central shaft won't do any harm to any of 'em and should solve the problem as it flows down into the joint.
A vibration isolator screws to the end of the motor with two diagonal screws, then the other two screws go into the frame where the motor used to mount with all four screws.add (a dampener) to the extruder motor? Would that help at all?
The extruder motor has a 5:1 gearbox, which is the thing attached to the motor mount with a circumferential clamp. It doesn't mount the same way as the axis motors, so an isolator won't fit.
