Going back to v4 extruder

Could use little help; bought a used m2 rev d with v4 hotbed; the person I bought it from installed a different extruder, but I would like to go back to the original makergear one. Is it as simple as reinstalling the extruder and flashing the firmware to rev d?

Yes it should be... just make sure you have the correct firmware. If the Z switch is at the top of the printer it should be a D or older but, If the switch is at the bottom it's probably an E or newer. They have a firmware selector on their site because the stepper motors can be different also so double check that to be sure.
