I recently purchased a M2, M2 LCD interface, Zebra Plate, and Simplify3D. This is my first 3D printer and utilizing windows based computer. My plan is to set it up tomorrow, but need some clarification before moving forward. What do I need to download and install, if anything, to operate the machine and LCD interface? For example, do I need to install Arduino and RAMBo inf driver files? The LCD interface didn't come with any instructions. Do I need to install the firmware in the following link to make the LCD interface work? http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2-lcd-panel Partly, the questions are in-response to the included documents stating "don't change the firmware unless you have been advised to update it by MakerGear" which seems to convey that software has already been preloaded with the 3D printer. Thanks.
Ron

Re: Need Help Getting Started
Who'd you get the LCD from? Do you know if it's the Geeetech one or the original Viki?

Re: Need Help Getting Started
The LCD was purchased from MakerGear approximately 2 weeks ago, so I assume Geetech. However, the item came wrapped in foam without any documentation. It looks like the one in this link. http://www.makergear.com/products/lcd-screen
Also, does anyone have the initial setup video listed in the How To: Guide to Getting Started (with Troubleshooting Tips)? The link comes up that the video is private. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCKDJlZKubA

If you read through the downloadable booklet here - everything in that video is covered in detail, in written form (if you just follow the steps), as well as most of the Getting Started Guide. Sorry about that.

Re: Need Help Getting Started
I have had mine since August 2015 and it came with small booklet or quick start guide. If this is a new printer Revision E there has been changes and Jules has been working on the quick start guide. It might even be posted on here. Both Windows 7 (at least) and the new Mac OS have support built in for the control card. Plug and play so to speak. The LCD cables just plugs into the power supply/control box on the lower part of the printer. I just used some heavy duty double sided 3M trim tape to hold it on the side of the frame. Once you get the printer installed on the computer, install Simplify 3D and your computer needs to be connected to the Internet to get it activated. Use the pull down in the software to select your printer.RJD wrote:The LCD was purchased from MakerGear approximately 2 weeks ago, so I assume Geetech.
