saw tooth on smooth ramp

saw tooth on smooth ramp

Anyone know how to fix this or work around? Maybe just a fact of life Z axis saw tooth steps where the model was a smooth transistion.. s3D V4.0.1

You're looking at layer thickness: each sawtooth step is one layer of plastic.

The tradeoff is simple: thinner layers = smaller steps = longer print time.

If that surface must be smooth, flip the model upside down to put it against the platform and add support under all the overhangs.

IIRC, Slic3r recently added an adaptive thickness setting, but I haven't yet found a reason to tinker with it.

Thanks Ed! This is a surveillance cam shade.. just trying to see if I can keep the rain far enough away so it does not light up so bright in the IR light at night.. Don't think it is going to work so not really important with this model. Just never have printed anything with a ramp like this.. and yeah at .3mm layer height.
