Octoprint version

Post by Deduin42 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:28 pm

Is there any anticipated releases for newer versions of the Makergear fork of Octoprint? Current released version 1.3.6 was in March over a year ago, and the 1.3.10.1 pre-release test build hasn't been updated since December. The original Octoprint is at 1.3.11 and enables use of a lot of newer plugins things that we would find useful such as better timelapse, print time estimation, etc. that can't be loaded with this old of a revision.

If nothing is moving forward, can I create an installation using the official fork of Octoprint and get Makergear functionality with plugins for the Makergear setup, etc.?

ditto.

Current stable octoprint release version is 1.3.12. The current makergear-approved release of 1.3.6 is more than 18 months old.

Anybody manually performed the update?

1.4.0-mgalpha pre-release June 25,2020. No new release of the MG fork in almost 3 years. The official Octoprint is at 1.5.3, just released a week ago.

Is there any way to run the official Octoprint with MG M3-ID?

I'd be glad for some communication from MG as well. Meanwhile, what are the differences between the MG fork and Octoprint Master? I have attempted to create my own image by installing the MG setup plugin on Octo 1.6.1. The plugin installs but remains disabled no matter how many times I try to enable it and restart Octoprint. :?

Bump. MG assured me last summer that compiling an updated Octorpint/Octopi image was their highest priority and that it came up at every engineering meeting. Months later... no news. Am I missing something?

Octoprint 1.3.6 was released on December 12, 2017.
