Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
I made a hand knob for the Makergear M2 for bed leveling,
this makes the leveling process so much easier than using the allen key and reaching under to find the set screw.
It also allows fine tuning on the fly.

Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
what a difference on the fly bed leveling makes!
with these thumb screws you can make slight adjustments to any corner as its printing, really good for fine tuning during skirt print!

Thank You PSD...saves me from coming up w/ my own version. I'll probably use these for our unit at work. Ability to tweak bed on the fly has been high om ,y list/
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
what did you print this with, PLA or something else?
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
You can use any filament it doesn’t take much stress
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
Stupid question but how do I mount these? Using Allen key is annoying
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
Use the hardware I linked to on amazon. Screw from under in place of the allenscrew
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
Ah so Allen screw comes out and this one goes in . Got it
Thank you
Thank you
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
another question. what does one use to cut the screw? i tried it on one and it lost its thread
Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling
Cut with a metal hack saw ($2 small version from Home Depot or dollar tree works fine.) try not to skip over threads with saw. After cutting put a 45 degree chamfer on cut end by putting knob in vice and using a metal file on it or passing over a sander.
