The polished aluminum really turned out nice with that mirror finish. It almost looks like chrome. I thought aluminum will quickly oxidize back to its normal greyish state, did you have to coat it with something?

no coating. been polishing aluminum on bikes for years. if its polished like that and kept outdoors like maybe the wheels on your car then yes you need to keep up on something like that. motorcycles and 3d printers though, na, they dont see much wet weather lol. i might have to give the gantry a quick rub down with some metal polish once or twice a year and it should be good.
