Did you use heat, acetone or something else on that Pi case to round off the edges? I notice the edge detail looks smooth and glossy with none of the grainy 3d printed look.

well its been primed, sanded and painted so there are no lines in it at at all. its as smooth and shiny as the paint on your car.

Ah. I was hoping it was something easier than that.

If you could eliminate those bolts on the sides it would look even more sleek. Ever think about a slide-on or snap on lid?

Another thing that would look cool is if you made the box all black and then printed a thin frosted transparent sheet to go behind the raspberry cutout, then put a red LED behind it to illuminate it. You could use one of those jumbo size LEDs so it has some decent light output and then power it off the Pi board.

For the Teflon tube. Get some red paracord. Regular 550 should fit over it nicely. Can get it on Amazon for cheap. Might also make a nice sleeving for all the wires. I know irs used in pc's to make them look pretty.

Yeah some red techflex would work. I was actually thinking about that last night.

The red leds and lens can still be done easily. Hmmm do you think thats too much? I dont want to go overboard.

If you place the LED just right you could project a big Raspberri on the ceiling above the printer! And if you sync a strobe light to the limit switches on the bed you could have a heck of a party!

Seriously, I think it would look neat with an LED, but not a red one, maybe a blue or green since the case is already red. It would have been neat if you could have extruded the berry in a way that it extended out in 3 dimensions. I think it looks fantastic as is, you have triggered our imaginations.

Yeah with the red case you'd need a contrasting LED like blue or green. I think the LED effect would look best with a jet black case though for maximum contrast. Get rid of the bolts to and go for the minimalist tech look like the monolith in 2001 Space Odyssey.

BTW, I'm not saying do away with the design you already have there. I was assuming you were selling these and was just throwing out alternate designs to add to that one.

I kind of like the bolts, they match the rails and give it a sturdier industrial look than most of the cases out there.
