Same problem I had back on page 23 of this thread (viewtopic.php?t=1615&p=11890#p11896). Extrusion rate goes up as the square of the extrusion width; 140% means you're extruding 2x as fast as at 100%, so 70 mm/s at 140% is like 140 mm/s at 100%.Tim wrote:Well, I ran a second time at 70mm/s, and it jammed up at more or less the same place. Noting that the jam occurred twice within a minute or so after starting the first infill layer, I looked at my infill parameters, and decided that maybe the problem is having the infill extrusion width set to 140%. I think that's too much, although it was working great for the translucent PETg filaments. I am running again with the infill extrusion width set to 100%, and I'll see how that goes.

Re: esun petg
Yes, I sort of remembered that discussion but this thread has become so long it's kind of tedious to go back and find something in the middle of it! At the 140% setting, the configuration was working well for me with the translucent PETg filament, so I decided just to leave it. So it finally came back to bite me. Anyway, easily solved. I left the speed up at 70mm/s, and just reduced the infill extrusion width to 100%, and had no more problems. I was printing an enclosure I designed for the Smoothieboard; you can see the picture on viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2248&start=30#p12312. Also posted on Thingiverse as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:841736. I love the glossy look of the lid. Splendid stuff, this solid-color PETg.
Re: esun petg
My first big print with the black!
Roughly 70mm/sec
.88 extrusion multiplier
bed at 90°C with Garnier Fructis Extreme hairspray
Extruder at 250°C
20% infill
140% infill extrusion width
Ran for about 11 hours.
Came out great, with zero warp.

Re: esun petg
I would try it again same settings but use support this time. That should fix it.

Re: esun petg
I printed it with support, like I said it came out really well, nothing to be fixed.Slipshine wrote:I would try it again same settings but use support this time. That should fix it.
I don't know what you meant by that.
It's a portion of a low-poly sabre-tootheded tiger's skull.
Re: esun petg
I looked at it when you posted and just didnt reply because i wasnt sure if it was supposed to look like that or you were being sarcastic and it was a big blob mess. Lol. You really cant tell from the pic.
Re: esun petg
Haha it does look like a blob. I guess the photo was just to show the size. It spanned almost the length of diagonal bed corners.jimc wrote:I looked at it when you posted and just didnt reply because i wasnt sure if it was supposed to look like that or you were being sarcastic and it was a big blob mess. I was just really happy with the zero warp after printing it once in ABS and having over 1/4" lift in the corner.
Re: esun petg
Chuckle! And you see, I thought it looked fine for a saber skull, and that slip was just being clever.....

Re: esun petg
I must admit I thought it was a pile of goo.
