Yes 1/4". I set these plates up for many of the members here and usually tell everyone to get it at mcmaster. I ordered one from oneline metals and they must have stored it leaning against the wall because it was warped as all hell. Mcmaster has been really good. Ive probably done 12-16 plates from them for members here.

Jimc, there is a possibility that the gantry could be bowed down some, so I relieved a small amount of the tension on the belt. However, if it was just the gantry being bowed, then I would only be getting a deviation in my x axis, and I'm getting close to the same amount of deviation from the centerpoint to the edge in all directions, which leads me to think its mostly the glass. perhaps you can quote me over PM what it will cost me to get one of your MIC6 aluminum plate setups?

I know many like printing right on mic6 - personally, I like printing ABS on mic6 covered in kapton tape and use a zebra plate for most everything else.
( sacrilege I know  )
