Slic3r Ruins 3D Print after Cutting

Post by w22 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 4:51 pm

Please see attached. This beautiful vase is then jagged inside and out after cutting at exactly 100. Is there any way I can type in the height cut number as dragging to 100 exactly took ten minutes.

That sort of weirdness suggests the model isn't manifold, so the sections produced after cutting it aren't manifold, either, and the slicing will be completely bogus.

Run the model through the usual mesh repair programs to see what they do to it. As a rule of thumb, slicers perform poorly when handed a broken model, so it's best to fix the models before attempting to slice them.
