Rambo failure?

Post by eclarkmeyer » Tue Jan 17, 2017 7:53 am

I'm pretty sure that the relay output for the bed heater has failed. For no reason that I can tell it just stopped working. Can I configure the board to use a different relay or am I going to have to buy another Rambo? I've had the printer for a couple of years now but I haven't used it enough that I would expect a failure.

Did you check the wiring at the bed (common failure spot) and or fuses first?

Thanks for the comment! It got me to looking at the cable that runs to the bed and I found where the wire loom had been melted?!? After I cut the tie-wraps and removed the loom I found that the wire had actually burned in two before the power connector. Desoldered the connector, clipped back the wires, resoldered and now I'm back in business. :D
