Rick,
I'm not running any filament that would require the all metal hot end. So I'll be your guinea pig for the other.

Rick,

If the PTFE version will safely do 275C or thereabouts I'll take that if you need beta testers for the PTFE version.

I think you mentioned earlier that you would ship the dual extruder with one all-metal hot-end and one not. I would like to have one of each; there's no better way to compare them against each other.

Ok can you describe exactly what you mean by all metal versions? Are you only talking about just the hot end?

Here is the part list you posted.

v4 hot ends (one metal, one w/ptfe insert)
hot-end mount (machined)
motor bracket (machined)
filament drives (printed)
drive motor with pulley
cooling fan and duct (printed)
extruder harness, 2nd spool holder, 2nd filament guide/tube
replacement: z knob, z end-stop, x endstop trigger

I am good with this part list that you posted a while back.

A batch is shipping today and includes one metal v4 and one ptfe-insert v4. Please test them both. If you prefer one type or the other, we can swap them out as needed. Your input is very much needed to determine how to proceed...

Thank you!

Notification Makergear has shipped my new fancy 2 hot end stuff.
Now for the learning curve.

S3D does have options for numbering hot ends, hope the software part is easy to get a handle on.

The V3B I understood under-reports its temp by 20C so we're used to setting the temps for it 20 degrees high. Does anyone know yet how the V4 extruder behaves - what offset (if any) from the V3B temps we're used to should be use with the V4?
